Doctor Rock

12 Apr 2007
Edge joins Gloria and Emilio Estafan and pianist Andrew Hill to become a Doctor of Music at Berklee College next month.

The four are being honoured for 'achievements in the world of music and enduring contributions to American and international culture'.

It's a pretty cool class to join: past recipients include Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Patti LaBelle, Steven Tyler, Aretha Franklin, Tito Puente, Nancy Wilson, David Bowie, Michel Camilo, Chaka Khan, Loretta Lynn, Quincy Jones, Bonnie Raitt, and Ahmet Ertegun.

Berklee College of Music 'was founded on the revolutionary principle that the best way to prepare students for careers in music was through the study and practice of contemporary music.' More on Berklee here
